Some people belong to more than one organisation on ClassQuill — for example, if you own your own tutoring business and also help out at another. This guide covers moving between them, leaving one, and permanently deleting one.

Switching between organisations

If you belong to two or more organisations (as an owner, admin, or tutor), an organisation switcher appears at the top of the sidebar, just under your organisation’s name.

1. Open the switcher

In the sidebar, click your organisation’s name at the top.

2. Pick an organisation

Choose one from the list — each shows your role in it (owner, admin, or tutor).

3. You’re switched

The whole app moves into that organisation — dashboard, users, calendar, billing, and settings all reflect the one you picked.
Your choice is remembered, so you’ll land back in the same organisation the next time you sign in — until you switch again.
The switcher only appears when you belong to more than one organisation. If you’re in just one, there’s nothing to switch and it stays hidden.

Leaving an organisation

Leaving removes your access to everything shared at the organisation level. An owner or admin can re-invite you later if needed.

If you’re a tutor

  1. Go to Settings → General.
  2. Find the Organisation card, click Leave, and confirm.

If you’re an admin

  1. Go to Settings → Organisation.
  2. Scroll to the Danger Zone and click Leave Organisation, then confirm.
If you own the organisation, you can’t leave it directly — that would leave it without an owner. Transfer ownership to someone else first, or delete the organisation (below).

Deleting an organisation

Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone. It removes the organisation and everything belonging to it — members, classrooms, and related records. Only the owner can delete an organisation.

1. Open organisation settings

Go to Settings → Organisation. You must be signed in as the Owner.

2. Open the Danger Zone

Scroll to the bottom and click Delete Organisation.

3. Confirm by typing the name

Type the organisation’s exact name into the box — this unlocks the delete button so it can’t happen by accident.

4. Delete

Click Delete Organisation. You’ll be returned to your home page. If you belong to other organisations, ClassQuill switches you into one of those automatically.
